Looking for part-time caregiving work that fits your schedule? Home Helpers Home Care of San Mateo County is hiring dependable, compassionate Caregivers, Home Care Aides (HCA), CNAs, and HHAs to provide in-home care and companionship to seniors and adults who need help with daily activities.
We offer a variety of daytime shifts and match caregivers with clients based on availability, experience, and location whenever possible.
Available Shift Schedules
We are looking for caregivers available for one or more of these shifts:
- 8:00 AM–12:00 PM | Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thu/Sat
- 9:00 AM–1:00 PM | Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thu/Sat
- 1:00 PM–5:00 PM | Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thu/Sat
- 1:30 PM–5:30 PM | Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thu/Sat
Shifts are primarily during the day, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday assignments.
These are part-time, client-based positions. Workdays and weekly hours depend on client needs and caregiver availability. Full-time hours are not guaranteed. Caregivers with open availability may have more opportunities for assignments.
Pay & Benefits
- $22–$25 per hour, depending on client assignment
- Paid every other Friday
- Daily pay available through Tapcheck
- Paid initial and ongoing training, including dementia care, Parkinson's care, and safe transfer skills
- Paid sick leave
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits for eligible employees working 30 or more hours per week
- $150 sign-on bonus after completing 30 shifts
- $300 caregiver referral bonus
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal care.
- Help clients with walking, mobility, and safe transfers.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Prepare meals and provide medication reminders.
- Assist with light housekeeping and laundry.
- Support clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, and other care needs.
- Provide transportation to appointments and errands, as needed.
- Follow care plans and help clients remain safe and comfortable at home.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous caregiving experience preferred, including professional or hands-on family caregiving.
- Current California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration required or willingness to obtain registration.
- Reliable transportation; driving requirements depend on the client assignment.
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional.
- Able to communicate effectively in English with clients and the care team.
- Willing to complete required onboarding, background clearance, and training.

Caregiver assignments are available throughout San Mateo County, including San Mateo, Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Moss Beach, El Granada, Montara, Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont, and surrounding communities.
